Unfortunately not - this is explicitly forbidden as the internal power in the cottages has not been approved for this use. In particular, using a regular 3-pin plug via a domestic socket, (with an extension lead trailing across the property or through windows) could create a fire hazard, due to the extended use for car charging.
In addition, our insurance company will not cover us for guests plugging their EV into your domestic sockets.
Safety of our guests is a primary concern for us. Therefore, if you break this rule, we reserve the right to ask you to leave and you will forfeit the balance of your holiday rental and breakage deposit. You will also be liable for any damage caused.
Waterside Retreat and Brightside
Waterside Retreat and Brightside each have an Electric Vehicle (EV) Charge Point.
If you want to make use of this, you need to either select the optional extra at the time of booking or contact us before your holiday. We take a prepayment of £50 per car, per stay.
At the end of your stay, we will provide you with a breakdown of the electricity used and refund any money remaining.
If you use more that the amount paid, we may take a further prepayment or use the breakage deposit to cover the cost of electricity used.
See below for information on how to charge your vehicle.
